 Monday, 20th July 2026

15.19 miles. Two vintage 1947 Pensioners, riding Hase Pino Steps, semi recumbent tandem. Warm (19c), calm and sunny summers day. Boldon Colliery - Sunderland Glass Centre. It was meant to include Seaburn and the coast, but, the elderly pensioner in charge of the camera (Me), forgot to switch the camera on as we left home, then, having switched on at the end of Downhill Lane section, he forgot to switch camera on after our Coffee stop. The full circuit was Boldon Colliery - Sunderland - Seaburn - Whitburn - Boldon Colliery, but, only the middle section was videoed.

Friday, 24th July 2026

13.92 miles. A mystery tour of Washington. Two vintage 1947 pensioners, riding Hase Pino Steps, semi-recumbent tandem. Warm 22c, but, a brisk breeze from the West. Sadly, no video, the Pensioner in charge of the camera (ie Me), forgot to put the SD Card in! An interesting tour of Washington, found a track which bypasses the narrow bicycle gate on Spout Lane (which Sunderland Council have promised to widen). Not so lucky in Barmston, we did not find a way around the narrow cycle gate, but, we did find an alternative track to Concord, which may be useful, IF we can retrace our steps.

Boldon Colliery - Whitburn - South Shields - Jarrow - Boldon Colliery. Sunny, warm (19C).  On Ecosmo Tandem. Mechanical (chain jammed) meant we had to walk last two or so miles!  Garmin not charged up, so, had to use Strava on my phone. All in all, not many things went right today. Friday, 5th June 2020 12.98 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Washington - Boldon Colliery . Windy, cold (10C), and, finally, raining.

  Wednesday, 23rd February 2022. 10.36 miles. Polstead CCC - Hadliegh - Lower Layham - Polstead CCC. Our first ride of 2022, (due to inclement weather so far). Dry, sunny, and 10C. Video incomplete, Camera battery has obviously. partially discharged during our lay-off, and, date on video is out by one day, not sure how that happened! Saturday, 26th February 2022 12.84 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Washington - Boldon Colliery. Bright and sunny, but, with a stiff and very cold breeze. We get to use the new cycle/pedestrian bridge over the A19, finished at last.

Saturday, 4th March 2024 12.69 miles. Waterpump CL - Badingham - Bruisyard -Framlington - Waterpump CL.   Our first bicycle ride for some months. A quiet start, around Badingham Village, then on to Framlington, much of it on a section of NCN1. A pleasant lunch in Framlington, at what appears to be Avery popular bakers shop come cafe. A little "essential" shopping (milk, and, an easy ready meal for this evening), before we take the "short" route back to the WaterpumpCL, mostly via the B1120. A final stop for refreshments at The White Horse, Badingham. I notice, for some reason, almost every pub is called The White Horse!
