  Friday, 15th December 2023 4.76 miles.   Boldon Colliery and Downhill Lane.  One vintage 1947 pensioner walking, one cycling on folding bicycle. Bright and sunny. Becoming rather fed up with this achilles tendon problem now, it has been about 8 months, and, no real improvement.

Friday, 29th September 2023 7.17 Miles, and 1.15 miles. Boldon Colliery to Monkton Village to The Ship, Eighteen Banks. A trip to the pub, my pals are walking, but, my ongoing foot/tendon problem means I can't walk that far, so, I go on my folding bike. I was looking forward to the return trip (all downhill), but, we got a lift to the Prince of Wales pub, Jarrow, leaving me to peddle home from there.

  Monday, 7th August 2023 By way of explanation for the lack of Cycling. Two reasons:  weather has been dreadful, nothing but rain.  I have some problem with my foot/ankle. So, until the NHS creaks into action and I can get an appointment with a doctor, who appears even vaguely interested, my exercise options are limited. 2.06 Miles. To the chemist, in Boldon Colliery,  to collect Kathleen's medication. Windy, but, sunny and a comfortable 18C. 2.39 Miles. Around the Cotswolds Estate, Boldon Colliery, just to get some exercise.  Windy, but, sunny and a comfortable 18C.   Sunday 28th May 2023 5.05 miles. Around the Boldons. One vintage 1947 pensioner walking, because she is in training for walking to Durham, the other vintage 1947 pensioner is injured (foot), so, setting the pace, and, carrying water etc, on a folding bike. Dry, cloudy, 14c. No video. Friday 2nd June 2023 21.54 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Washington - South Shields - Boldon Colliery. Only one vintage 1947 pensioner today, the other one is walking to Durham with daughters 2 and 3. Video incomplete, because I forgot to format SD card, and, card filled up! A quest to collect "R" and "S" of the Saint's Names (Cyclechat Challenge), today, bagged St Robert, and St Simon. Disappointed that for St Roberts, I could only find a School, it qualifies, but, so far, I have managed all churches. St Simons was a trawl back through time, haven't been there since I was 11!

Boldon Colliery - Washington - Cox Green - Penshaw -Sunderland - Boldon Colliery.  Warm and calm, but, cloudy. Only one vintage 1947 Pensioner today. Video incomplete, I forgot to charge camera battery. Thursday, 16th June 2022 20.02 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Whitburn - South Shields - Jarrow - Boldon Colliery.   Out early this morning, 06:00! Warm and calm. Only one vintage 1947 Pensioner again this morning.

Monday, 13th December 2021 16.05 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Washington Village - Boldon Colliery. Dull, and cool (7C), but, no wind. Too cool to sit having coffee outside at Washington Village, unfortunately. Tuesday, 14th December 2021 8.08. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow. Dull, but mild 9C. Delivering Christmas cards, on Kathleen on her Liv Alight, me on folding bike, because Giant Escape has a puncture! Thursday, 16th December 2021 21.06 miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Washington Village - Boldon Colliery.  Bright and sunny, chilly at first (5C), but, becoming a barmy 11C. Delivering more Christmas cards, plus a coffee stop in Washington Village. Thankfully, avoided the puncture fairy today.

Change to Giant Hybrid, collect Kathleen, and do Washington Circuit. Bright sunny day, 21C. Wednesday, 11th August 2021 23.2 Miles. Boldon Colliery - Jarrow - Tynemouth - Whitley Bay - North Shields - South Shields - Jarrow - Boldon Colliery. Started bright and sunny, 20C, but, started to rain, just as we returned home.
